I started blogging in early 2009. Although the first few months were new and exciting, they were ultimately a period of discovery as I struggled to find my voice and theme. For a while, my blog was a hodgepodge of subjects with no obvious theme or identity. It was only after I’d blogged for a while and taken some time to reflect on my work that I was able to see what tied it all together.
I realized that although my posts were business-related, they also had a human aspect to them. I also realized that “people” and “business” are inseparable because in order for business to take place two people (or parties) must be involved in a transaction. It has been my experience that in order to be good in business, it helps if you are first good with people. And in order to be a good businessman, it certainly does not hurt to be a good person.
This is my philosophy that I want to share with you.
If you’re trying to find a way to separate your personal self and your professional self, stop. Find a way to make them complement each other. It all starts with awareness.
